This picture was taked on the top of Castellar Island. There is located in the port of Llançà, very close to the border with France. It is abrupt and has an area of 2.2 hectares.
Today it is connected to the mainland by a fill that joins it to the rest of the port. A sports marina was also built along its entire western and northern perimeter, and a huge mooring and shelter dock extends in an L-shape to the north of the island.
It has a viewpoint at its top and several paths cross it, used by walkers and hikers. Ceramic remains from the Iron Age were found and it is probable, given the toponymy, the existence of an old fortification or watchtower, perhaps medieval.
